Almost three years ago I was standing in the cargo section of the San Francisco International Airport. I was both nervous and excited about what was coming off that plane, holding a leash and water bowl in my hands. Two weeks prior I was speaking with my friend, Hanna, about rescuing a dog. I felt that it was finally time to take that leap of responsibility and bring some joy into my home. Little did I realize I was talking to the person who had helped rescue dogs out of South Korea for 10 years, with two of her own being from there.
